Cross Country High Speed Trains

If you thought the 40 year old Inter City 125mph diesel train was a thing of the past, don't forget Cross Country still have five sets and they can be seen on trains running through Devon. The seven coach trains now have sliding doors and other features to comply with new disability regulations.

You can expect to see Cross Country High Speed Trains or HSTs on the following services:

0611 Leeds-Plymouth (Mon-Sat)

1225 Plymouth-Glasgow Central (Mon-Sat)

0606 Edinburgh Waverley-Plymouth (Mon-Fri)

1525 Plymouth-Leeds (Mon - Fri)

1325 Plymouth-Edinburgh (Thursdays)

0632 Dundee-Plymouth (Fridays and Saturdays)

1725 Plymouth to Leeds (Fridays and Saturdays)

0810 Leeds-Plymouth (Sunday)

1425 Plymouth to Edinburgh Waverley (Sunday)

0900 Leeds-Plymouth (Sunday)

1524 Plymouth-York (Sunday)

0908 Edinburgh Waverley - Plymouth (Sunday).

The Inter City HST 125 sets make a welcome change from 4 or 5 car Voyagers and they're not banned from the Dawlish sea wall during storms. But could more Voyagers and longer trains be on the way? Avanti West Coast is soon to dispense with all its remaining Class221 Super Voyagers and it seems logical that they should join the rest of the fleet on Cross Country routes.
