Devon's least used station is Chapleton on the Tarka Line with just 446 people getting on and off trains there in the last year. The figures come from the latest estimates of Station Usage for 2018-19, published by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) today. Two other stations on the Barnstaple branch make up the top three least used stations in the county. They are Portsmouth Arms (466 passengers) and Lapford (1316 passengers).
Axminster is the most used station on the Exeter to Waterloo line with Honiton a close second. Unsurprisingly Exeter St David's is the busiest station in Devon with 2,620,000 people using it in the last year with Exeter Central and Plymouth close behind. The statistics also show 5,320 people used Okehampton Station which is only served by trains on summer Sundays - for the moment at least!
The least used station in the south west is Coombe Junction on the Looe branch line with 204 passengers last year
